Last and Final

I played my very last performance class tonight for Jeffrey's studio at the U. It wasn't anything big...I even used music...but it's kinda strange. Because I took such a long time on this degree, I've been a part of his studio for a long time. Sure, I'll still take lessons, etc. There's no question about that. It's just kind of weird. I'm no longer official. Kind of like the end of an era. :)

Cape Fear

So...Cape Fear...scary. Max Cady...the bad guy...really scary. Hitchcockian...truly and completely...down to the color filter changes...incredible score...and very scary. Yes, I know, I'm a little behind the times here but...fantastic movie.

It's official's officially way around it...I'm not going to Italy this summer. They changed up the program in that conducting students (studying with Maestro Rescigno) are playing the rehearsals. They are paying to do so...and also, the students are down to 48 instead of 72 and so they don't need as many accompanists for lessons. Anyway, that's that. And completely depressing by the way since almost everyone is going back. But...I'll just have to do something else fun I guess.

Hello! So, people are giving me flack for not writing since Fillmore. But the problem is...I have nothing to say. How sad is that. Let's see. Oh...I got a new computer today...upgraded my mac. It's cute and blue. :)
Let's see....I only have five weeks left of the opera this year. And Carol promises that they will switch up the show a bit next year. I'm kind of excited to tell you the will be a different story having been around for a year. Although, my singers are starting to get impatient for the end of the year...
ok...I'm just rambling.'s a blog entry! ;) Will write more later...promise.

Injured in Fillmore

So Kara and I went to get mani-pedis today at the one salon in Fillmore. We had some time to kill and they were cheap. took three hours in the first place. One girl who didn't work all that fast. The pedicures went almost flawlessly. But...I'm getting my manicure and she clipped my cuticle too close so it cut me. Yes, it hurt but, whatever. No big deal. Well, she can't understand why it won't stop bleeding so she puts rubbing alcohol on it (owwwwch!) which by the way, is not a coagulant. She did that a couple times and kept messing with it thusly, keeping it bleeding. Anyway, needless to say, after she put lots of rubbing alcohol, then fingernail polish remover, than fingernail polish on doesn't feel good. And on top of's a sucky manicure that is peeling off. Yes, I'm whining a bit makes for a funny story. :)

Taxes in Fillmore

So if it wasn't bad enough that I am condemned to Fillmore, Utah for the week, I am apparently unable to practice (there are no pianos in Fillmore!) and then on top of it all, I am finishing my taxes. You gotta love it when someone who makes less than $20,000 a year is supposed to pay $2000 in taxes. Granted TurboTax is being stupid...and I'm working on that...but my goodness!!! I can't afford that! My entire savings will go away in one sail fwoop to the government. Gotta love it.

Basta cosi...

It's official...I can graduate. I passed my oral exams on Friday (which were highly entertaining by the way). The graduation announcements are being sent out, the cap and gown are purchased. Everything's ready to go...hopefully. ;)
It's always strange not registering for new classes etc. but this time it's a little different. Just because, when I started this degree, I didn't know how I was going to finish...really. I had never done a solo piano recital...or necessarily think I was capable of one...and didn't think there was any way I could survive oral exams. It's kind of amazing how much can change.
And for my fellow italiani...grazie tantissimo per tutto del aiuto, sperare, confidenza, pazienza, e per credendo in me. (Ed anche...ta ta tvb ps!!! :) )
