So, I kind of took a mental health day today. I really just needed to get away from everything for a while. Away from Falstaff (I even took the CD out of my car!), away from moving, away from Italy, away from all the craziness going on. Don't get me wrong here, my life is way less crazy than a lot of y'all's...but I wanted to turn my brain off. Anyway, as a result, I packed a lunch, grabbed my camera, got in my car, and decided to follow my nose.
I started out in Midway, driving through Wasatch Mountain State Park. I've never been there before today...and it's gorgeous! I stopped and ate my sandwich at an old pioneer homestead that had a picnic area around it. Even with the clouds, it was great.
I left Midway and headed towards Kamas via UT-32. It's not the normal way I drive to kamas. It took me through Francis (which you can blink and miss). But it's a great drive. I was a little turned around when I got there since I came into town from a different direction but, I finally figured out where I was (thanks to some opera star traveling landmarks, sadly enough). Then I headed up towards the Uintahs hoping to find the road open. The road was open, and it was gorgeous. I drove as far as the provo river waterfall overlook (a little under halfway to mirror lake yet not quite up to lofty lake). I took a few pictures and turned around for home.
Overall, it was a great day and really nice to just follow my nose and see where I ended up.

Just in case you didn't notice...I added a link to my blog. If you didn't already know, I like to take pictures. So you can now access my picasa picture page from my blog and see my photos. It's on the right...just under my profile picture. Check it out if you want...don't if you don't want. No worries at all. :) Just thought I would let you know. Thanks!

It's amazing. I think we have...maybe...seven more opera stars to do before the end of the year. I'm not sure many of you realize what this means. Last year we performed close to 220 opera star shows or something similar throughout the public schools of Utah. This year it looks like it will be close to 225. That means that over the past two years I will have performed almost 500 opera star shows. That completely amazes me. I'll find out the official number soon but...wow. I never thought I could physically...and mentally for that matter...perform the same show 500 times. At least this year we have changed up the music a lot...which makes it a lot easier. But it just amazes me. Sorry if I'm the only one that find this interesting...but it doesn't seem anywhere near that much. Anyway, I might have to celebrate after the last and final show. And my favorite change to the show from all this time...the last, and final quartet...my favorite line...sung almost every day for the last four months or so...would be..."pianists are the best of course...if they can play for you!". :) Thanks y'all!!!

It doesn't matter how bored or lonely you are, it's always fun to cook something fantastic for dinner. Tonight was pasta with sauce made out of butternut squash. Kinda made it up but that's the funnest part...except for eating it and realizing that it doesn't suck...and that it's actually really good! That's all. Hope everybody's having a good Sunday...
