Franciscan Blessing

I think this is rather matter what or who you may believe in.

May God bless you with discomfort at easy answers, half truths, and superficial relationships so that you may live deep within your heart.
May God bless you with anger at injustice, oppression and exploitation of people, so that you may work for justice, freedom, and peace.
May God bless you with tears to shed for those who suffer from pain, rejection, starvation, and war, so that you may reach out your hand to comfort them and turn their path into joy.
May God bless you with enough foolishness to believe you can make a difference in this world, so that you can do what others claim can not be done.
And the blessing of God who creates, redeems, and sanctifies be upon you and all you love and pray for this day, and forever more.

So...banks are stupid. Actually, not really...but it feels good to say.
I applied for a loan a while back, knowing that they would probably reject me, but I thought it didn't hurt to ask. I want to pay off my credit cards and get a lower interest rate (since my stupid mastercard upped my rate more than 40% at the end of last year). I never use them, they just carry balances from two old Europe trips that I'm still paying off. We're talking less than $8,000 here people...not a lot! Anyway, I talked to my loan officer today and it looks like I am not allowed to keep either of the cards open after I pay them off. They force me to close them. There would go the emergency fund and how I buy plane tickets for Italy and such. So...needless to say...I told her to forget about it today and that it wasn't going to be a viable option for me. Back to square one. Anybody have any great ideas for earning a quick $8,000?

The Westminster Chamber Singers are giving a concert this weekend. They are singing a piece with a portion of this text. Seeing that I enjoy Keats, I thought I would look it up. Totally reminded me of Lisa...who will eventually be home from Italy and back to her fairy flitting ways. Enjoy...

Fairy Song
--John Keats
Shed no tear! oh, shed no tear!
The flower will bloom another year.
Weep no more! oh, weep no more!
Young buds sleep in the root’s white core.
Dry your eyes! oh, dry your eyes!
For I was taught in Paradise
To ease my breast of melodies,—
Shed no tear.
Overhead! look overhead!
‘Mong the blossoms white and red—
Look up, look up! I flutter now
On this fresh pomegranate bough.
See me! ’tis this silvery bill
Ever cures the good man’s ill.
Shed no tear! oh, shed no tear!
The flower will bloom another year.
Adieu, adieu—I fly—adieu!
I vanish in the heaven’s blue,—
Adieu, adieu!

O soave fanciulla - Anna Netrebko - Rolando Villazon

I know some people think this is cliche but, I love this opera. It's some of my favorite music in the world. Just thought I would share a bit. Enjoy!
